figure drawiings

Hey everyone. This summer I've been doing a bit of figure studies from a book by Glenn V. Vilppu called The Vilppu Drawing Manual. He has a great sense of structure (something of which I feel I personally lack), so I sought to gain that through his book. Key areas of the body I focused on was the hips and ribcage. My reason for studying the figure again was to have more freedom when drawing more difficult poses. In addition to studying the figure I've been playing with a software called Sketchbook Pro. To me, it's just photoshop at its absolute basic functions for an artist.

Darth Blue MOJO!*

An Illustration I did for a book coming out later this year. The brief was to do Vader in your own way. I personally winged it and stopped when I thought it looked cool enough. Hope you dig.

Page 5-6-7-8!*

Page5 Panels 5-7

Page7 Panels 1-4

Page8 Panels 2-8

Hey gang. School is finally over. It's been a great quarter here at SCAD-Atlanta. My Sequential Art Self-Promotion was really informative and challenging for me. Rebranding yourself can be a big task, but I feel that it benefited. Studio four was great. I went about the class trying to make my comic-making abilities more efficient. I had a critque today on my pages thus far and everyone dug them(thanks fellas). I look forward to working my Found story this summer and developing my portfolio for my exodus next year.

Page 4*

Here's Panel 1-4 of page 5. Out of the five five panels on it panel 2 was the hardest. It was difficult to know when to stop but I think I pulled it off. Page 6 coming up!

Panels 1 and 2 of page 3. This was a fun and surprisingly quick page to do. In the panels 3-6 tried to keep the inks real loose. Didn't really rely on reference either(it can slow you down a bit). Onward to page 4!

FOUND-Page 2!*

Here is panels 3-5 of page 2. I think the drama of the scene is felt in the rain. It was difficult to ink but worth the time. Hope to be quicker on the next few page. Later

FOUND-10 Page Short*

Hey everyone. Here's panels 3-6 of page 1 of my 10-page story called FOUND. It's about an estranged relationship between a father and son mended through a tragic car accident. It's a work in progress and will be for the next few weeks. More to come... It's all due pretty soon.
